Hunt for the elusive monster with a cruise on Loch Ness before turning northward to the stunning beauty of the north-west Highlands. We take in the beautiful town of Beauly with its Priory dating back to 1230, and then it's into the rugged and isolated mountains that secure Scotland's place as one of the last great wilderness in Europe. Learn a bit more about whisky and develop a greater appreciation for its flavour when tasted. Then, it will be time to head back to Inverness for the evening. (Overnight: Inverness)
We explore Culloden Battlefield, the scene of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s defeat back in 1746 then the mysterious chamber cairns of Clava Cairns; which inspired the hit TV series Outlander. We visit the Highland Folk Museum to get a real taste of Highland life from the past centuries before heading to Dunkeld with its mighty cathedral, on our way back to Edinburgh.
